Ulla Rantanen (b. 1938) is a Finnish painter and printmaker who studied at the Finnish Art Academy School from 1955 to 1959. Various human figures often appeared in her early works, such as in this one belonging in the collections of the Academy of Fine Arts. Later, however, her style became more abstract. In addition to her artistic work, Rantanen has also been an influental figure in the Finnish art scene and has particulary been promoting the status of female artists.
