More info
Kain Tapper's (1930–2004) lithography print, unlike most other graphic works in the art collection, is not a student work. It dates from 1987, when Tapper was a Lecturer in Sculpture. Those familiar with Tapper's oeuvre will most likely recognize a familiar subject from the piece, namely the skull of a horse. The starting point for the skull theme was the death of a horse that was important to Tapper in his youth. Tapper had dug the skull of his horse from the ground and preserved it in his studio, from where it became part of many works, both sculptures and printmaking.
