More info

Hertta Puhakka (b. 2003) started her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2023. Representation, colour and plastic composition, as well as influences from theatre and stage design, characterize Puhakka's work. Pala taivasta (A piece of sky) is a scrap metal collage made of leftover material, with blue and white shapes in multiple layers that create the impression of clouds moving in different directions. The subject of the work is borrowing a piece of sky and capturing the sensation created by the blue colour. The work was completed in the Sculpture Laboratory course at the Academy of Fine Arts and was first exhibited in the course exhibition Out - Back from May 28 to June 2, 2024.
